I’m Finally Back!

Hello!

I’m finally back to posting after about a month away. Germany was fun, but that ended almost three weeks ago and I’ve had some trouble adjusting back to real life so posting took a hit, but I’m here now to rub soothing lotion on your itching desires to know more about Cutthroat Fruit Merchant and my board game development process.

But seriously, you should probably get that itching checked out.

So what’s new to CFM? Well, we’re finally getting some more “real” artwork done. And when I say “real” I don’t mean it in a sarcastic tone, even though that’s what the quotes imply, but rather that it’s actually real artwork as opposed to my supposed artwork, which is also very real artwork, but just not very good.

Check out the new board in progress!

Cutthroat Fruit Merchant Economy Board done by Sam Mameli of Better Legends.

This is a more finalized version of the Economy Board and Scoring board portions. The whole board will look more like this earlier version.

Cutthroat Fruit Merchant prototype of the Economy Board/Main Board. By Sam Mameli of Better Legends.

Across the top is the Scoring Board flanked on either side by the Economy Board and the bottom is the former Main Board, which is, of course, the map of the archipelago.

My friend Sam Mameli pulled these together while I was in Germany. We had a bunch of conversations before I left about whether we wanted to keep all of the boards separate, as the originally were, for a more modular approach or print them all on the same board. Ultimately, he decided it would likely work a little better print-wise to put them all together on one bigger board.

Sam also made a couple Player Board prototypes. Check out this one, delivered to you in pill form.

Now that’s some easy art to swallow!

All of this art may still change and some of it still needs some finishing touches before it will be added into the Tabletop Simulator version of the game, but we are hoping to having a printable version by December 2021 or at the latest January 2022.

Anyway, that’s all I’ve got for you today. I’ve got some more development thoughts on the way so check back soon!

Also, I am still hosting Tabletop Simulator games for CFM so if you are interested please contact me by leaving a comment or shooting me an email. I check it periodically…starting again today. TTS games are currently running at 7:00PM EST on Wednesdays. Come test the game and let me know what you think!
